Tubers are dispatched from December onwards, we do not send when the weather is sub-zero as we do not wish the tubers to be at risk.
Plants are dispatched from early May until very early June.
Yes, tubers may be collected by arrangement from our offices, plants may be collected from the Dahlia Farm.
No we do not have a shop or tea room. However, plants may be purchased at the Farm in May and cut flower throughout the flowering season. You are very welcome to bring your own picnic!
We only ship to Great Britain mainland and islands.
We recommend lifting your dahlia tubers and overwintering them under cover (see Advice for details). If tubers are left in the ground the plants will, over time, degrade and begin to revert to type. It is my belief that when they are left in the ground the tuber does not become truly dormant which leads to the degradation.
Yes, dahlias will grow well in pots or containers. However, as dahlias are thirsty plants plenty of watering and feeding will be needed. Small dahlias are better but larger dahlias will do well in large containers.
